 Is the ideal solution to implement regional, or even national WebGIS solutions to combine and share GIS data of several origin.

An impressive example of such WebGIS national portal is the fully operational “Géoportail” of IGN FRANCE. STAR-APIC of course takes an active part to this large project.

In Belgium, STAR-APIC has also implemented a very large federal WebGIS project, the KLIM-CICC. This WebGIS project is based on a underground property management solution combining the data of all dangerous underground networks (high-voltage electricity, high-pressured gas, toxic chemical pipelines, etc.).
Since 2005, this online WebGIS portal enabled any authorized user, before planning any on-the-field work, to get information on any potentially dangerous underground cable or pipe in a specified zone.
 

This WebGIS portal was developed after the terrible disaster of Ghislenghien (explosion of a gas pipeline in July 30, 2004).
